If you were to read the labels of all your cleaning products in your home, what ingredients do you think you would find? Would it surprise you if I told you that some of those ingredients have been linked to serious illnesses? And would you be willing to throw them out if I told you that there was a cleaner and safer alternative? Read on to find out more about the Thieves product line and how you can use only three cleaners to clean your entire home!
Cleaning products are generally labeled as safe when used as directed. However, this does not mean that you’re not inhaling and/or absorbing harmful chemicals into your body. In small amounts this is deemed as safe. But, when you take into consideration ALL the chemicals in ALL the products you use each and every day, it can over time become overwhelming for your system.
You might be okay at first, but if you continue to expose yourself to these chemicals day after day, and year after year, eventually these chemicals begin to accumulate in your body and can cause serious diseases.
Here is an article from the American Lung Association that goes into basic details of what these toxins can do in your system. https://www.lung.org/clean-air/at-home/indoor-air-pollutants/cleaning-supplies-household-chem
These chemicals are also obesogens, which can cause you to gain weight or make it impossible for you to lose weight. Here is an article that goes more into that topic. https://www.integrativepainscienceinstitute.com/what-are-obesogens/
That’s overwhelming, isn’t it? But the good news is that there is a solution.
Unlike many cleaning products on the market today, the Young Living Thieves product line is made with natural ingredients. This means that you won’t suffer any harmful side effects when using these cleaners around your home. Plus, the Thieves cleaners are all infused with essential oils that make them pleasant to clean with.
You can get all Thieves products individually, but some of them are also part of a starter kit as well as in an essential rewards kit. First, let’s talk about the ones that are available in a kit; and then we’ll talk about a few other products that are not part of the kits.
Note: The starter kits vary from country to country, so please make sure to read over the product details on the Young Living website before making a purchase.
All Purpose Household Cleaner
The all purpose household cleaner is an ultra-concentrate, which means you can dilute it to meet your various cleaning needs. It’s an excellent cleaner for floors, sinks, stoves and the bathroom, including the toilet, tub, fixtures and mirrors. This can also be added to your laundry detergent as a booster.
You can combine this cleaner with baking soda OR vinegar for even more cleaning power. I have a a couple amazing recipes in the free ebook that I’ll send you if you sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page.
Although expensive to purchase, this bottle can go a long way. At the medium dilution rate, you can get around 29 bottles of cleaner from just one bottle. That’s how concentrated it is.
The bottle size is 426 ml.
The laundry detergent is also a concentrate. The bottle size is only 946ml, but you can actually get 64 loads of laundry out of it! And if you dilute it with the all purpose cleaner along with some baking soda, you can get even more out of it.
I’m totally in love with this detergent, because it does not irritate my throat or cause headaches, like some other detergents do. For something natural, the price is right and I can rest knowing that I’m not wearing chemicals anymore.
To be honest, I have a love-hate relationship with this dish soap. I love it because it’s natural. I’m not inhaling harmful fumes while doing dishes and I don’t have to worry about any residue of harmful chemicals when I’m done.
But… unlike the laundry detergent and the all-purpose household cleaner, the dish soap is NOT a concentrate.
The instructions on the bottle read as follows: “Disperse a small amount of soap with warm running water. Add additional soap as needed.”
I don’t recommend diluting this, however, if you want to stretch this soap you can add a bit of the all-purpose cleaner along with baking soda.
Another thing you can do is add a tablespoon or two of baking soda to your running dishwater to work alongside the dish soap. Baking soda works well against grease and other debris.
The baking soda will also help to create suds, as this dish soap does not sud. But you don’t need suds… You know it is working if you stick a greasy pan in at the end and it cuts through the grease.
The way I see it, the laundry detergent and all-purpose cleaner make up for the extra price we pay on the dish soap. I love this dish soap and it’s in my kitchen to stay!
The bottle size is 355ml.
This toothpaste took me back to my childhood when the products on the market, at least where we lived at that time, were closer to nature. And that makes me feel good about using this. My teeth feel clean, and I’ve been using it along-side my peppermint mouthwash for an even cleaner feeling.
Foaming Hand Soap
This is my favorite hand soap that I’ve ever tried. It leaves my hands feeling so clean, but without any harsh chemicals!
My three and a half year old son too, when he caught me using it one time and he said “Hey! That’s my soap! You can’t use that!” He has super sensitive skin, so I’ve had to buy the more expensive soaps just for him, while I resorted to using some of the cheaper brands in efforts to save money.
This soap is expensive, but you can get the refill bottles at a much lower price.
What I love most about this sanitizer is that it is naturally derived from plants, and it doesn’t dry my hands out like some other sanitizers I’ve used.
Thieves Fruit and Veggie Spray
My kit also came with a fruit and veggie spray. It’s the perfect size for travel, with only 59ml. You simply spray the produce down, and then rub for 30 seconds before giving it a good rinse.
So that is it for products that come in my essential rewards kit.
- If you are new to Young Living, then you can purchase the above products in a starter kit along with a diffuser.
- If you are already a customer, then you can get them in the essential rewards kit.
- You can also purchase all of the above separately if you like.
For my friends in the US, your kits may look a little different, so be sure to double check the products before buying.
Now on to the other products that you can get on the side.
Fruit and Vegetable Soak
This is similar to the veggie spray, except it comes in a large bottle. You simply fill your sink with water along with the fruit and vegetable soak and soak for about 1-2 minutes before rinsing.
What makes these mints stand out is that they are sugar-free! I’ve not tried them yet, but I can’t wait to order them.
Thieves Essential Oil
This oil blend is made with clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus radiata and rosemary essential oils.
It is perfect for so many uses around the home from cleaning to diffusing. This blend is a favorite go-to oil for just about anything. I used it here in my board butter. It makes it smell so delicious I want to eat it every time I go to wax my boards.
I’ve also used this along with lemon oil in my carpet shampooer as a final carpet rinse.
And did you know that it can help to relieve symptoms of the cold?
Thieves Dishwashing Powder
This dishwashing powder is available in the US. If you’re in Canada, like me, you can still get all the products from the US by switching the US version of the website in your dashboard. I’m not sure if this function is available to new sign-ups, but it is available once your account is all set up.
