Granny Square Diaper and Wipes Organizer
FREE Crochet Pattern & Tutorial.
This photo tutorial shows you how to take a basic granny square pattern and turn it into a cool organizer for diapers and wipes. It is shown here tied to the end of a Pack ‘n Play, but you can basically hang it off any change table.
The organizer has a neat granny square divider in the middle to separate the wipes from the diapers. The thing with this organizer is that it slants off into the middle, more so as it gets empty. However, it still works and looks cute.
And if you like this, you might also enjoy the simple toy organizer on CNC.
The pattern was designed as part of the 2017 Granny-Spiration Challenge as outlined by EyeLoveKnots.
Materials:
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver – Worsted Weight #4 – 4 Colors.
Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm
To crochet this organizer I used my basic granny square as outlined here: Granny Square Crochet Pattern.
Rnds 1-3: I worked the pattern as instructed changing to a new color in each round.
Rnd 4: I continued with the same color as Rnd 3 and worked 1 single crochet into each stitch and chain around. Into the corners I worked three single crochets.
You will need to crochet 15 of these squares for the organizer.

Working with the 4th color, single crochet two strips together as shown below. You should have the wrong sides facing, with the seam on the right sides.
Another View: See the Wrong Side on the top strip and the Right Side with the seam on the bottom strip.
Now you will join the “End Square”, which will pull the two sides together. With the Wrong Side facing up, place a granny square (this square will be the end square) in the top right corner with the Right Side facing up. Single crochet the two squares together along the one side as shown.
Next, join the next two sides to the next two squares. Connect Side 2 with Square 2, and Side 3 with Square 3.
It should look like this after all three sides are joined:
Follow the same steps for the other strip. You should have two halves with one square left over. The last square will join both halves and also become the divider in the middle.
Put both halves up so the right sides face up. Then hold the two corresponding squares up on your right and place the last square in between. Working through all three squares, single crochet across.
Here is another view, and you can see the last square is secured in between the two halves.
And yet another view. And as before, you will work through all three squares and join Side 2 to Square 2, and Side 3 to Square 3.
Here Side 2 is joined to Square 2.
And here all three sides are joined. Do not fasten off the yarn.
Continue with the same color yarn and single crochet all the way around the top edge. Fasten Off.
Now join the two seams at the bottom with single crochets.
Weave in the ends…
Tie Strings (Make 2):
Chain 120, single crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook and into each chain across. Fasten Off and weave through the top two spaces, one on each side. Tie onto your Pack ‘n Play or anywhere else you like.
And now, here is your chance to win 2 skeins of Yarn Bee’s Andres Alpaca Yarn from EyeLoveKnots. This giveaway is open for 11 days, so hurry before it ends.
