Creamy Tomato Soup Using Canned Soup

A quick and easy recipe showing you how to dress up a can of tomato soup.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2

    cup onion, diced

  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato, diced
  • 1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp basil, dried
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 284 ml can tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste.


  • Heat olive oil and saute onions and garlic on low-medium heat for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes, Italian seasoning and basil and simmer for another 20-30 minutes.
  • Add the red wine vinegar, tomato soup and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Add cream along with salt and pepper to taste.


I used my homemade Italian seasoning recipe, but feel free to choose whatever you like best.
