After last year, I’m a little shaky about setting specific goals, because making them and following through are two entirely different things! Nevertheless, here are my crochet business goals for 2013:
Goal #1: Finish the 31-Day crochet business blogging challenge hosted by Sara Duggan on Google Plus. Thank you Sara for hosting this, it is just what I need to get me started and to keep me motivated.
Goal #2: Publish 1-2 patterns a week. I will be publishing on my main website, hubpages and on this blog throughout the year.
Goal #3: To get a following on Social Media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pinterest, Ravelry, and others. My specific goal is to get at least 1000 followers on at least one of the platforms. That means I still need over 700 new followers.
Goal #4: To design free patterns for guest posting on other crochet blogs or websites. Let me know if you have open spots and I’d love to design something.
Goal #5: To make Crochet Pattern Bonanza one of the top crochet pattern directories online. I’m not going to set my hopes too high because it is a lot of work, and I do have a lot of competition. However, it can be done if I work hard enough. If you have a free pattern site and would like to be linked, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to link you.
Goal #6: To update this blog regularly. If I can complete this challenge, then I should be able to update at least once a week.
Goal #7: Get advertisers for my sites, other than just Google Adsense. I’m hoping to sign up with an automated network, but I’m not sure which ones to go with yet.
Goal #8: This was part of last years goals and failed miserably, but I’m going to try again. The goal is to create more crochet video tutorials.
Goal #9: To make a living with crocheting by the end of 2013. That is a huge goal for me, but I figure if I work hard then anything is possible. If I fail in this area, then my alternative goal is to get a part-time job :). That should be interesting because I have been out of the work force now for over three years.
Wish me luck!
