Here are a couple of baby blankets that I have been working on over the last couple of months. I started with the pink and white one early this year. It was meant to be for my niece’s daughter, but it’s a little too late for that. So I’m thinking of just donating to charity or something once it’s finished.
Although it’s a beautiful blanket, it is a lot of work to make because each round is done with a new color, meaning there are lots of ends to weave in. And to join the squares, I am going to be using the flatbraid technique, which I happen to really like.
As for the blue blanket, it is done with the seed stitch and very easy to do. Once you get going on it, it allows for mindless crochet, which eases the mind of all worries for the time being. The blanket was born when my new neighbors had a little boy. It’s still not finished…I still have to do the edging and then it will be ready to give away.
Since the stitch pattern is so easy for the blue blanket, I’m hoping to make a matching hat and sweater to go with it. But we’ll see when I get around to that.
I don’t know when these patterns will be ready. I still have to write up the edging and joining rounds before I can request testers for them. But I’m hoping to get everything done sometime in December. Don’t hold me to that though because lately I’ve been struggling to keep my own deadlines.
